Chronicler – Beatrix
Our mission was to save Dr. Maelon Solus, from the Weyvbi trolls. Our secondary mission was to help the trolls, who were affected by a periphage designed to make them more warlike. The periphage caused infertility among the trolls. They kidnapped Dr. Solus in response to their upset over the periphage and it’s side effects. Dr. Solus worked with Dr. Lunisce in the making of the periphage.
Dr. Lunisce decided to accompany us on our mission. I mounted my horse and Ingvar mounted his spider, while the rest rode in wagons. We soon noticed burnt out torches on our path to the trolls. When night fell we took shifts keeping watch of our camp.
The next day we attempted to hunt for provisions. I was unsuccessful in my hunt and felt shame. Doc’s character made a stew. Matt ’ s character was preoccupied by his coin collection, but made a stone surface for us to cook on. Tegu killed a delicious badger. Tarlie found water. Igvor killed a boar using his brute strength and his mouth to aggressively bite the animal. Helen ’ s character saw a mountain lion. It ran away and died. She decided to bring it back to camp. Tarlie smoked and prepared the meats for us and that night we had a feast.
Our second day on the trail we still had the burnt out torches to follow. We saw a box canyon with an unnatural door carved into the rock. When we approached the door, the scholars in our group noticed permethian script carved into the rock. There were also troll footprints in the dust and ominous skulls with spears stuck in them.
Matt ’ s character saw a goat path and we followed it to another doorway carved into the rock. We entered the door and saw a staircase that had a human corpse at the top. Doc’s character and Dr. Lunisce examined the body. It had died within 48 hours of our discovery of it. Dr. Lunisce said someone had tried to modify the periphage inside the dead subject.
Matt ’ s character believed we were in what used to be a prison, however Tegu knew it used to be a hospital. We tried to be as stealthy as possible until matt’s character stepped on some rotten flooring. We came to a hallway that had a flickering light at the end of it. We moved down the hallway and saw rooms, each room with 2 beds. The first room we encountered had two dead females in it. Dr. Lunisce examined them and deduced they were cut open with no anthesia in an attempt to cure the periphage, but instead introduced a new virus. We continued and found 6 more rooms and 7 more dead bodies. Dr. Lunisce interpreted the medical jargon on documents found. They experiments on live trolls were an attempt to modify the periphage.
Tegu followed a gnome through a closed door in the hallway. He went invisible and saw a person working with magic images of viruses and was manipulating them. The gnome pulled out a crossbow on Tegu. Tegu bellowed for help. We all came around the corner to see what was going on.
Maelon was the gnome. He said all the women were volunteers. Dr. Lunisce what was done to the trolls was a terrible thing. They argued over the ethics of Maelon ‘s experiments. Dr. Lunisce considered destroying all the data collected by this horrendous experiments. I did not think this was honorable and convinced him to allow the data collected to do some good. They already had suffered, but it didn’t have to be in vain.
Doc’s character drew a pic of a bad magi man who has power over the trolls. He makes them warlike and regenerative. The periphage was just a bandaid to stop the trolls from breeding. The trolls were still warlike and regenerative. There was a switch with a smiley face and a mean side. Similar to what we had encountered with the goblins.
We decided to enter the gestation chamber. Zarex is the leader of the troll army. Joe’s character explained the situation to zarex. Zarex was furious. He through a hand Axe at the wall and water began to spray out. They threw spears at dr. Lunisce. Matt’s character shielded dr. Lunisce with a glow thing. Tegu threw ninja stars at the crack where water was spraying and made the flooding worse. Matt’s character shackled zarex to the ground using magic to manipulate stones.
Igvor and I had exited the flooding room. Matt’s character stayed on top of zarex and used him as an island. Tegu did a back flip onto Igvor ’ s shoulders as a way to avoid drowning. Doc’s character noticed a chamber beyond the crack in the wall. He swam into the chamber and used magic to make light.
Matt’s character had a vision of men, women and children. The bright light snapped him out of his vision.
